SEC Action is highlighted by Tennessee – Texas A&M a 2 OT thriller in College Station,  the Aggies come out on top and stay undefeated beating the Vols 45 to 38.   QB Josh Dobbs had a nice game with 398 yards and a td pass but RB Alvin Kamara was the Vols’ star with 127 on the ground with a td and 161 yards receiving and two scores.  He is the first player with one hundred plus yards rushing and receiving in over 2o years.  Alabama gets a big win on the road at Arkansas 49 to 30.   Auburn blitzed Mississippi State for 35 in the first half and won 38 – 14.

Vols Win Thriller Over Dawgs, Tide Whips Cats, A&M and Auburn Win

Week 5 of the SEC featured one for the ages as Tennessee stuns Georgia with a last second Hail Mary to win the game.  The Vols continue their unbeaten ways going into Athens getting the win in ultra dramatic fashion.  Once again, Butch Jones’ Vols fall behind in the first half only to come roaring back behind QB Josh Dobbs.  The UT defense forced a fumble on a sack of UGA qb Jacob Eason and recovered for a TD with less than two minutes in the game.  Eason responded with a drive capped by a TD strike to Riley Ridley to send the Georgia crowd into a frenzy, only to see UT complete the Hail Mary from Dobbs to Jennings for the win.

Alabama beats Kentucky 34 to 6 to stay undefeated and top ranked.  LSU whips Missouri as the Orgeron Era  begins.  Chet and Bill discuss last week and look ahead to week 6.  Listen to our podcast!

Vols Get Huge Win Over Gators, Auburn Beats LSU and Coach Miles is Sacked

ut-fl-scoreThe Tennessee Vols win the huge game over the Florida Gators to stop the 11 game skid against their SEC East rival. UT overcame a mistake filled first half of football to dominate the Gators and win 38 to 28 and take control of their SEC East destiny. Down on the Plains in Auburn, Gus Malzahn’s Tigers ride the All-American leg of kicker Daniel Carlson’s 6 field goals to prevail over LSU in a game that ended in a wacky finish. The frustrations were too much for the LSU powers to take and Les Miles was fired Sunday afternoon. Ole Miss whipped Georgia and the other SEC games were discussed by Chet and Bill in this edition of Dixie Football Fanatics. Bill is still happy as Alabama rolls over Kent State 48 zip.

The Fanatics Review Big Wins by Tide, Vols, Aggies and Dawgs and Preview Tennessee-Florida & SEC Week 5

Vols vs GatorsChet and Bill have plenty to say after a day long Saturday binge of college football.  The Tennessee Vols prevailed in a surprisingly tough game against MAC visitor the Ohio Bobcats.  Injuries sustained by UT starters add  further stress to the upcoming huge game this Saturday with SEC East rival Floriday Gators.  Alabama has a MAC guest coming to Tuscaloosa as Kent State comes in for a big payday and a likely beat down by the top ranked Crimson Tide.   Auburn, coming off a tough loss to Texas A&M host’s the LSU Tigers in a really crucial game for both teams.  Georgia visits the Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas plays Texas A&M in two other important clashes.  Give the podcast a listen!

The Dixie Football Fanatics recap the last couple of weeks of SEC action and look ahead to big weekend featuring the LSU Tigers invading Tuscaloosa to take on the Tide in a battle for SEC West Division supremacy that will heavily influence the College Football Playoff.  The CFP committee has released the first weekly rankings and it is  1. Clemson  2. LSU  3. Ohio State  4. Alabama.   Tennessee hosts South Carolina as the Vols try to finish the season on a roll.  Auburn and Texas A&M meet in College Station and  Arkansas at Ole Miss are other real big matchups in the SEC this week.

DFFChet and Bill  get fired up for the yearly clash of their beloved teams as the Tennessee Vols travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the 8th ranked Crimson Tide.  The Vols hope to break an eight game losing streak to the Tide and Bama must win to stay in the SEC and College Football Playoff race.  The Rocky Top Crew is led by QB Josh Dobbs and Coach Butch Jones and they are coming in rested after a bye week and their big win over Georgia two weeks ago.  Auburn is facing a tough physical test in Fayetteville as the Hogs try to get back  on track after losing to Alabama two weeks ago. 

Vols whip Dawgs, Bama beats the Hogs, Spurrier Resigns in a Busy SEC Week

Dixie Football Fanatics Steve Spurrier, known as the Old Ball Coach, abruptly resigned as coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks this week.  He leaves a legacy of a stellar coaching career highlighted by a national title and 6 SEC championships at Florida.  He leaves as the all time winning coach at South Carolina, but this year his team is struggling at 2 and 4.  He will be missed by friends and foes alike.    This week saw the Tennessee Vols get a nice SEC win over Georgia.  LSU and Florida remain undefeated and Alabama subdued Arkansas 27-14.  Listen as Chet and Bill discuss all the hot topics this week!
